Brave new world…

Hello there, reader. For the past few days I’ve been working on tweaking my web sites (I think I’m done for now) and doing some final touch-ups on Soul Census. I’ll be updating the manuscript on all the online retailers soon. No changes to story line or anything, just grammatical fixes.

As I delve into social media marketing, and book marketing in general, I am amazed at how things have changed. Even simple things like integrating your WordPress site to a social media platform like Twitter or Facebook is no longer just activating a plugin and approve an app (Facebook app approval process, I’m talking to you!) I guess you can blame hackers and spammers for that.

Updating print covers on Amazon is my latest technological torture. I have, without exaggeration, submitted the same damn cover at least 20 times and it still gets rejected with a rather useless explanation. Yeah I know, #firstworldproblems

On a more upbeat note, I’ve discovered Pinterest (don’t laugh.) It’s actually pretty cool once you understand and have a purpose for it. I find myself “pinning” things that I really do find interesting. Many of which are things featured in Soul Census (i.e. mythology, World War II era, noir, etc.). While it seems you could accomplish the same thing with other social media services, it appears that social media services are defined by how people use them and not necessarily by what their founders intended. As long as it’s easily definable, I guess that’s a good thing.

Anyway, till next blog post…
